Job description

Manages diverse administrative functions usually for a very large, complex department or for a complete line of business that may be regional or national in scope, often requiring associates in one or more location. Functions managed may include: financial control/budgeting and consolidation, personnel processes, audit/compliance, premises, and coordination of certain projects, associate training, service quality, process improvement, business continuity, or communication. Consults with senior management in evaluating current methods and developing strategies to implement changes and improvements. Requires a thorough knowledge of the department or business units functional area or products. Working knowledge of general bank policies, programs and procedures and financial/accounting practices. Generally has full management responsibility over a relatively large team and may manage one or more levels of managers.

Enterprise Role Description:

Reporting to theHead of Behavioral Finance, the Behavioral Finance Analyst (BeFi Analyst) is responsible for consulting with FAs and clients for Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management as well as other Bank of America brands (e.g., Merrill Edge) to support BeFi initiatives. Ultimately, the behavioral finance initiative is aimed at creating collaborative and synergistic product, strategy and service solutions between clients and the business. Position will also partner with: OPM, CSS, ML Learning, Marketing, Wealth Management Tools, and Investment Management & Guidance groups.   

Key responsibilities:

- Drive the Behavioral Finance (BeFi) and Goals-Based Wealth Management (GBWM) strategies via the delivery of coaching and training through market-wide programs, local in-person meetings, virtual training calls, one-on-one training sessions with FAs/CAs and OMT
- Advisory representative for Client Experience Standard work streams and Field and Forum meetings
- Provide detailed FA training on innovative BeFi and GBWM tools (e.g., Investment Personality Assessment, Goal Explorer, Wealth Bench) in order to support the GBWM initiative
- Serve as a BeFi subject matter expert (SME) for FA/client-focused research and tools
- Work as a liaison between the OPM/GBWM home office strategy teams and the market team (including the Market  Executive and Complex Directors) to ensure seamless messaging on BeFi and GBWM initiatives
- Maintain strategic vision document of the BeFi team and capture historical activities/best practices

Role Requirements:

•       Credentialed with planning designation(s) – e.g., CFP
•       Series 7 and 66
•       Ability to facilitate learning in both large-group and 1:1 settings
•       Effective communication skills (verbal and non-verbal)
•       Strong writing and presentation skills
•       Ability to assess needs of FAs and clients to recommend appropriate solutions/interventions
•       Ability to listen  and probe for clarity and understanding
•       Ability to operate in self-directed manner
•       Strong relationship builder
•       Strong understanding of the FA role coupled with knowledge of how to navigate the USWM organization
•       Ability to engage with and influence others
•       Strong follow-through skills
•       5+ years working with Advisors and clients on planning-related issues preferred
•       Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Economics, Business, Psychology, or Finance.
•       MA or PhD in Psychology, Statistics or Economics preferred
